Mississippi Per Diem Educational Consultant (Kindergarten – Grade 5 Core Course – Math)

About the Position

The Academic Allies Consulting Firm is seeking a Mississippi Per Diem Educational Consultant specializing in Kindergarten – Grade 5 Core Course – Math. This is a contract role for a dedicated professional to work onsite, facilitating effective classroom practices and supporting change in school districts across Mississippi. As a consultant, you will deliver professional development, technical assistance, and embedded coaching to enhance instructional practices and educational outcomes within math departments. This position requires in-depth knowledge of standards-based education, instructional strategies, and student-centered classroom management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Professional Development and Technical Support: Deliver professional development workshops and job-embedded services to schools contracted with The Academic Allies Consulting Firm. Provide targeted support to integrate innovative, standards-based strategies for effective math instruction.
  • Classroom and Program Implementation:
    • Implement instructional components in alignment with program philosophy and pedagogy.
    • Utilize data-driven tools to support differentiated instruction and data-informed decisions.
    • Integrate technology resources and instructional devices in the classroom effectively.
  • Job-Embedded Coaching:
    • Model instructional techniques and coach teachers to enhance classroom practices.
    • Conduct classroom observations to monitor the implementation progress of key instructional strategies, and provide actionable feedback.
  • Administrator Support and Coaching:
    • Use program tools to assess school needs, identify program goals, and offer tailored coaching and feedback.
    • Provide ongoing communication with district and school leadership to support successful implementation.
  • Data-Based Decision Making:
    • Support teachers and administrators in using data dashboards to inform instructional planning.
    • Differentiate instructional strategies based on student performance data.
Qualifications
  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of elementary experience with proven success in the classroom.
    • Strong experience in leading workshops and coaching educators, with skills in differentiated instruction and technology integration.
    • Deep understanding of standards-based curriculum reform and assessment.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with an ability to engage large and small groups.
  • Preferred:
    • Expertise in scaffolding for English Language Learners and students with disabilities.
    • Certified in bilingual education.
    • Familiarity with instructional technology and virtual learning environments.

Travel Requirements
  • Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time, including both airline and automobile travel.
