About the Position
The Academic Allies Consulting Firm is seeking a Mississippi Per Diem Educational Consultant specializing in 6-12 Core Courses for ELA, Science, and Social Studies. This contract role involves working onsite to enhance classroom practices and drive positive change in Mississippi school districts. As a consultant, you will provide professional development, technical support, and embedded coaching to improve instructional practices across core subject areas. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of standards-based education, effective teaching strategies, and student-centered classroom management.
Key Responsibilities
Classroom and Program Implementation:
- Implement instructional components aligned with program philosophy and pedagogy.
- Use data-driven tools for differentiated instruction and data-informed decision-making.
- Integrate technology effectively in the classroom.
Job-Embedded Coaching:
- Model instructional techniques and coach teachers to refine classroom practices.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide actionable feedback on instructional progress.
Administrator Support and Coaching:
- Assess school needs, set program goals, and provide tailored coaching.
- Maintain ongoing communication with school and district leaders to support program implementation.
Data-Based Decision Making:
- Guide teachers and administrators in using data dashboards for instructional planning.
- Adjust instructional strategies based on student performance data.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred).
- At least 5 years of teaching experience in 6-12 ELA, Science, or Social Studies.
- Proven experience in leading workshops and coaching educators.
- Strong understanding of standards-based curriculum reform.
Preferred:
- Expertise in scaffolding for English Language Learners and students with disabilities.
- Certified in bilingual education or familiarity with instructional technology.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to prioritize and manage a demanding workload.
- Strong collaboration and team-building skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential to succeed in this role.
Travel Requirements
- Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time, including both airline and automobile travel.
