About the Position
The Academic Allies Consulting Firm is seeking a Mississippi Per Diem Educational Consultant specializing in Algebra I and ACT Prep for grades 6-8. This contract role involves onsite support to improve mathematics instruction and ACT preparation across Mississippi school districts. As a consultant, you will provide professional development, technical assistance, and coaching to elevate instructional practices. This role requires in-depth knowledge of mathematics standards, instructional technology, and data-informed teaching.
Key Responsibilities
Professional Development and Technical Support: Deliver workshops and embedded coaching to assist in Algebra I and ACT Prep instruction.
Classroom and Program Implementation:
- Implement components of the Algebra I and ACT programs aligned with program philosophy.
- Use data-driven tools to support instruction in math.
Job-Embedded Coaching:
- Coach teachers in instructional techniques for Algebra I and ACT Prep.
- Provide observation feedback to improve teaching practices.
Administrator Support and Coaching:
- Use tools to identify program goals, and offer coaching to meet these needs.
- Communicate with district leaders to ensure effective implementation.
Data-Based Decision Making:
- Support teachers in using data to refine Algebra I and ACT Prep strategies.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience teaching Algebra I or ACT Prep.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of instructional technology and strategies for diverse learners.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to prioritize and manage a demanding workload.
- Strong collaboration and team-building skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential to succeed in this role.
Travel Requirements
- Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time, including both airline and automobile travel.
