About the Position
The Academic Allies Consulting Firm is seeking a Mississippi Per Diem Behavior Specialist to support school districts across Mississippi. This contract role provides behavior management training and social-emotional learning support for teachers and administrators. As a specialist, you will conduct assessments, deliver professional development, and offer coaching to implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). This position requires expertise in behavior intervention, SEL strategies, and classroom management.
Key Responsibilities
Professional Development and Technical Support: Deliver workshops on behavior management, SEL, and PBIS strategies.
Behavior Assessment and Intervention:
- Conduct behavioral assessments and implement intervention strategies.
- Use data-driven tools to evaluate behavior intervention effectiveness.
Job-Embedded Coaching:
- Model PBIS and SEL techniques in classrooms.
- Observe and provide feedback on behavior management strategies.
Administrator Support:
- Work with administrators to develop behavior intervention plans and offer coaching.
- Maintain communication with leadership on program progress.
Data-Based Decision Making:
- Utilize data to adjust and improve behavior intervention strategies.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in behavior management or as a behavior specialist.
Preferred:
- Experience in SEL and PBIS frameworks.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to prioritize and manage a demanding workload.
- Strong collaboration and team-building skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential to succeed in this role.
Travel Requirements
- Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time, including both airline and automobile travel.
