About the Position
The Academic Allies Consulting Firm is seeking a Mississippi Per Diem Educational Consultant specializing in K-5 Core Courses for ELA. This contract role involves onsite support to strengthen literacy instruction in Mississippi school districts. As a consultant, you will provide professional development, technical assistance, and job-embedded coaching to improve foundational reading and literacy outcomes. This position requires expertise in early literacy, differentiated instruction, and child-centered classroom management.
Key Responsibilities
Professional Development and Technical Support: Facilitate professional development and provide job-embedded support to help teachers deliver high-quality ELA instruction in K-5.
Classroom and Program Implementation:
- Implement instructional strategies aligned with program philosophy.
- Use data-driven tools to support differentiated instruction in ELA.
- Integrate technology to enhance literacy instruction.
Job-Embedded Coaching:
- Coach teachers to enhance ELA practices in the classroom.
- Conduct observations to monitor literacy instruction and provide feedback.
Administrator Support and Coaching:
- Work with administrators to assess program needs, set goals, and provide coaching.
- Engage in regular communication with district and school leaders.
Data-Based Decision Making:
- Help teachers utilize data dashboards to inform ELA instructional planning.
- Differentiate strategies based on student performance data.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of K-5 teaching experience.
- Strong experience in literacy instruction and educator coaching.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with instructional technology.
- Experience in scaffolding for diverse learners.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to prioritize and manage a demanding workload.
- Strong collaboration and team-building skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential to succeed in this role.
Travel Requirements
- Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time, including both airline and automobile travel.
